A level Art Access Project

Art Access Project

If you would like to study A level Art and Design and you don't have GCSE Art, please complete the Art Access Project to help us assess your suitability for the course.

How to apply for the project

If you are not taking GCSE Art or a related subject, you can apply to take the subject by submitting an Art Access Project.

When you make your A level application, you will be required to state if you plan on submitting a project before Enrolment.

You may include A level Art and Design as one of your subject choices in your application, but as you will not have predicted grades for this subject, you must make sure you include four other subjects that you are qualified to take.

If you are made an offer of a conditional place at the College, this will not include Art and Design at this stage.

Submitting your project

Please read the Art Access Project guide and submit your Project by Monday, 13 July 2026. Please include your Student ID number, which is located at the bottom of our emails to you.

If you have any questions about the Project, please email Tim Winn, Head of Art and Design.

At Enrolment

When you complete Stage 1 Enrolment, please specify which subject you would like to change out of if you pass the project.

Once all students have enrolled with the College, we will confirm with you if you have been accepted onto the Art and Design course.

I have made so many new friends from different schools who share similar interests with me. Hills Road really develops you as a person; getting you ready for the world of work.
