On Monday 31 March, students and staff at Hills Road Sixth Form College laced up their running shoes for the annual HR4.5 fun run, marking the launch of the College’s much-anticipated Eco Week... which for the first time ever took place over two weeks!

Participants gathered in the Quad, for a dynamic warm-up and an energetic routine led by local personal trainer and familiar face at HR4.5, Ash Bower, who was joined on stage by the Student Council.

In an impressive show of unity, well over 750 students and staff took part in the 2025 edition of the event, and all were in great spirits whether they were running, walking, supporting or spectating.

Many were sporting t-shirts bearing this year’s winning HR4.5k logo, while others took the opportunity to don creative fancy dress. Standout costumes included dinosaurs, the Mario Brothers, a group of Shreks, and much more!

HR4.5 and the host of events scheduled throughout Eco Week prompt Hills Road students to reflect on environmental issues and raise funds for charities dedicated to tackling climate change, protecting nature, and conserving wildlife.
