Helen Burrows recognised nationally as Exams Officer of the Year Runner-Up

We are proud to share that Helen Burrows, Examinations Manager at Hills Road Sixth Form College, has been named runner-up in the prestigious Exams Officer of the Year award for 2025.

Helen Burrows, Examinations Manager at Hills Road Sixth Form College, has been named runner-up in the prestigious Exams Officer of the Year award for 2025. The award, presented by the National Association of Examinations Officers, received over 300 nominations from schools and colleges across the UK and internationally. 

Helen was recognised for her exceptional professionalism, attention to detail, and compassionate approach to supporting students during exams. According to the Association, she came “within a whisker” of winning the top award, underlining just how highly her work is regarded on a national scale.

Helen’s leadership ensures the integrity and security of our exam systems while creating a calm and supportive environment where students can perform at their best. Her role is vital in helping reduce stress for students and their families during one of the most challenging times in the academic year.

Reflecting on her achievement, Helen said:

“I’m proud to lead a skilled and caring team who go above and beyond every day to provide a calm and well-organised exam environment. The work is demanding, but working with our fantastic students and dedicated staff makes it incredibly rewarding.”
