Our Ceramics course is suitable for both beginners to pottery and more experienced potters. Learn to build decorative and practical pieces of work that you might desire in your daily life.
Enrol now for the available days
Throughout the Ceramics course, you will work on your projects at your own pace. Whether you are a complete beginner, and require guidance from start to finish, or are an expert and wish to work independently on your project, this course will help hone your skills.
We encourage our students to approach this course with an idea about what they might like to create. In doing so, you’ll be in a fantastic position to start your ceramics journey and achieve the goals you have set for yourself before the beginning of this course.
If you are unsure about what you would like to create, then researching ceramic works created by independent artists on Pinterest or joining the @HillsRoadCeramics Facebook page is a great place to start.
If you’re a total beginner in this field, you will be guided through a variety of techniques, including pinch, coil, slab building, throwing on the potters’ wheel, surface decoration and much more! More advanced students are free to work on projects independently, and can ask for guidance from the class tutor when you need it!
Your work can be collected after the course has finished, once it has been finally fired in the kiln.
To book a course, you will need to register online by clicking on the day you would like to attend. Please see the course information below the heading ‘Enrol now for the available days’.
