Thea Sylvester is a Hills Road Alumna who has recently returned to Cambridge this month to play against Cambridge University’s first team (CURUFC) on the rugby pitch. She is currently studying at Brunel University, after studying Biology, Psychology and Physical Education at Hills Road.
We sat down with Thea to see how she is getting on at university and her sporting activities!
So far it has been an experience that I have gladly been able to involve myself in. Being at a university like Brunel, which provides so much opportunity has exposed me to new experiences, skills and people. The environment and resources provided to students here enable me to pursue rugby alongside my studies without falling behind in either.
Brunel University (partnership/pathway with Ealing Trailfinders) and Lioness 7s
I am mostly looking forward to the upcoming 7s season with Lionesses as there will be several opportunities to play abroad as well as the playoffs for Brunel.
My main focus at the moment is to finish my degree and go as far as I can with rugby. After university, I think I would have to see where my rugby took me and go from there.
Keep developing your own skills at your own pace without comparing yourself to others and take every opportunity you get to involve yourself within the sport.
