The Introduction to Shakespeare course is designed for anyone interested in Shakespeare and his works.
The Introduction to Shakespeare course is ideal for anyone interested in knowing more about the world, works and wonder of William Shakespeare. Together we will delve into the Tudor theatrical context he came from, read from some of his great plays, discuss his style and themes and maybe even explore performance!
It is phenomenal that a playwright and poet born over 450 years ago remains so incredibly popular in 2026. Shakespeare is often considered to be the greatest writer ever known because of his unparalleled insight into the human experience, his complex and modern characterisation, his amazing poetry and his genius for theatre from comedy to tragedy and everything in between.
You will develop knowledge and understanding of his work and characters for the stage and increase confidence in discussing him and even speaking his language.
