The Illustration Next Step Evening Course is designed for those who have completed the Illustration course at Hills Road or have prior experience in illustration and/or drawing. This short course offers a focused opportunity to refine your techniques and explore the next steps in your creative journey, from developing a personal style to navigating client work and commissions.
This Illustration Next Step Course is tailored for individuals ready to build on their existing illustration skills. Whether you’re looking to strengthen your artistic direction or refine your visual voice, this course provides a supportive environment to explore your creative identity. Through guided exercises, feedback, and discussion, you’ll gain clarity on your goals and develop a strategy for your future in illustration.
Throughout the course, you’ll reflect on your current strengths and areas for growth, using this insight to shape your personal development. We’ll study the work of influential illustrators—past and present—to inspire and inform your practice. The emphasis will be on evolving your unique style, building confidence in your creative decisions, and identifying practical steps to advance your illustration career.
You’ll also explore aspects of personal branding and how to present your work professionally. Whether you're aiming to build a portfolio, attract commissions, or simply deepen your artistic practice, this course will help you take meaningful steps forward.
