Rapper, singer and songwriter Rosca Onya will perform at the Junction on 10 February 2025. His debut song 'Jack' has special meaning to Hills Road Sixth Form College as it is dedicated to the memory of his friend and mentor, former Hills student Jack Merritt.
Jack tragically lost his life in the London Bridge terror attack in November 2019. Jack studied at the College from 2011 to 2013 and went on to study Law at the University of Manchester. After graduating in 2016, he completed a Master's in criminology at the University of Cambridge and became course coordinator for the University's prison rehabilitation programme, running the Learning Together project.
The song 'Jack' garnered widespread media attention and earned Rosca a place as one of the most dynamic figures in today's emerging rap scene.
All proceeds from this concert will go to the two charities Rosca and Jack supported at the time of Jack's death: Just for Kids Law (www.justforkidslaw.org) and the British Red Cross (www.redcross.org.uk). A special guest appearance will be announced.
