The Latin Lower Improvers course is suitable for students who have already studied Latin for three terms or who have completed approximately 60 hours of tuition.
With a focus on reading and writing, the Latin Lower Improvers course is designed to consolidate existing grammatical knowledge while also introducing new language features. Students will improve their confidence through reading model sentences, discussion and analysis. They will translate extended paragraphs and original texts, further improving their confidence.
The Latin Lower Improvers course enables students to build their core working vocabulary and to expand their understanding of key linguistic features. Students identify links between Latin words and those of other languages, including English, while at the same time reading fascinating texts about Roman life and the people who spoke Latin, such as the Britannia stories set in Britain.
