The Italian Advanced through Opera and Music course is suitable for students who have already studied Italian for a number of years and are already at B2 according to CEFR levels.

    About the course

The Italian Advanced through Opera and Music course will develop students’ language skills through the rich traditions of Italian opera and music.  The course combines advanced language practice with cultural immersion and is ideal for musicians and enthusiasts alike.

Students on the Italian Advanced through Opera and Music course can expect to explore musical and thematic concepts, such as love, power, fate, through excerpts from iconic operas, such as Tosca, Don Giovanni, La Bohème.  Students will also deepen their knowledge of the historical and cultural context of Italian opera and music.  There will be many opportunities to speak and write about music and performance, and students will read modern reviews and cultural commentary as stimulus material.
