Come and experience the many and varied practices of dance! This course is suitable for complete beginners and will give you the opportunity to learn and try new techniques in a nurturing environment.
The Introduction to Dance course is ideal for complete beginners. Students will get a taste of the movement vocabulary and textures available in the varied practice of dance, including Lyrical, Jazz, Contemporary and Musical Theatre.
Through technical development and choreographed phrases, participants will be encouraged to hone their confidence and bodily knowledge, developing an understanding of the qualities of each technique. No previous experience is required, all ages are welcome!
The Introduction to Dance course will enable you to learn, move safely and gain confidence as you discover the different techniques and styles of dance from Contemporary through to Musical Theatre. You will have the opportunity to reflect on your learnings and enjoy the benefits of movement and mindfulness during the course.
This course is about learning the basic techniques and vocabulary around varied dance practices, taught in a relaxed and nurturing atmosphere, where no one has to worry about their performance or level of skill. You will learn and practice a variety of techniques through choreographed phrases, enabling you to move at your own pace with support and guidance from the tutor.

Payment
Payment is made in full at the time of booking.
If you are booking a Level 3 or 4 Counselling course, you will be able to pay for this using a Direct Debit, which you will set up before the course starts in September. Please check the relevant course pages for details.
