Throughout the Dressmaking Pattern Drafting Workshop, you will learn how to create a bodice block to fit your own body measurements.
About the course
The Dressmaking Pattern Drafting workshop is particularly great if you want to start making your own designs or if you struggle to get commercial sewing patterns to fit. You will need to have previous dressmaking knowledge and understand garment construction techniques. The workshop is not suitable for complete beginners.
During the workshop you will take measurements and plotting these onto pattern paper you will create a simple sewing pattern that you will then make up in fabric and it will fit your shape perfectly. This pattern can then be used as a basis when creating your own sewing patterns or as a guide when adapting commercial sewing patterns. You will also discuss how adjustments to the basic block can create different garment styles.
